Here we look at the golf swing uploaded by koekoekking, "Piebe Swing Vision" on YouTube.
This gentleman has a very good golf swing. The slow motion video is quite good also.
But, there is one big problem -- his alignment.
He hits three shots in this video. You will note that his feet are lined up approximately at the right side of the green in the distance. But, he appears to be trying to hit the ball over the flag. In other words, his feet are slightly closed to the target line.
On the first and third shots, he hits the ball over the flag, but it is actually a bit of a pull, with a low ball flight -- he is compensating for his closed setup position. On the second shot, however, he hits the ball right where he is aiming. His second swing is much better than swings one and three -- notice the full release and the higher ball flight. I'm sure the ball traveled much farther as well.
Sadly, he probably thought it was his worst shot, because it went right of his intended target.
Don't let this happen to you -- you should always use a club on the ground for aiming at the driving range. This simple thing alone would help out this gentleman a great deal, I think.
